Most Americans do not understand, simply, Palestinian fears of the colonies (settlements). They are always liable to Israeli counter-theses (such as: This is not the settlements, it's suburbs. Or that Jerusalem is not a settlement, but is our capital).

I'm of the opinion that most Americans really haven't formed an opinion on whether settlement vs. suburbs. They simply don't care.
